Timothy Hedeen, Ph.D., Professor of Conflict Management at Kennesaw State University and mediator JoAnne Donner were speakers at a recent negotiation conference at Kennesaw State University. The mediation researchers presented the results of their national survey “Mediation Preparation: Insights from Mediators,” in which almost 400 mediators comment on the preparedness of disputing parties who participate in the mediation process. Survey findings reveal that almost 50 percent of disputants show up at the mediation table unprepared; in the family law sector the percentage of unprepared disputants is more than half at 54.6 percent.
